Grown-ups can enjoy an evening at Thinkery on their own. At Thinkery21, we close the museum to kids and let adults, ages 21 and up, eat, drink and mingle while experiencing innovative science and art.

At Thinkery, math is not a four letter word. From fractions in music to fractals in nature, come playfully explore how math shapes the world around us. Through games, puzzles and art, you’ll learn to derive the equation: You + Thinkery21 = Love.

Geometrical Bubbles – Ever seen a square “bubble”? Create amazing soap bubble surfaces, and explore their underlying geometry, with Southwestern University’s John Ross.

Classical Greeks Photoshopped – Math can make you more attractive. Join Dr. Alan Pizer of Texas State University for an historical overview of how artists used math to make human proportions more ideal than real.

Space, Aliens & Astronomical Adventures – Join Drs. Jeffrey Silverman and Rachael Livermore of Astronomy on Tap ATX to learn about light years, the probability that we are not alone and more.

Glow Games – Skill, probability and simple addition can help you win free tickets to After Glow, #IMAGINARIUM’s inaugural after party fundraiser benefiting Thinkery.

Get into the Groove – Join Go Dance and explore how hearing the numbered counts in music can enhance your experience and ability to look and feel good on the dance floor.

Happy Birthday to You & You &… – Join MathHappens.org in a celebration of the paradoxical and a chance to win a birthday gift. Explore unexpected coincidences, physical and numerical paradoxes, strange election results and a proof that 64=65.

Tricky Triangles – Play around with puzzle pieces to prove the Pythagorean theorem (a2+b2=c2) with Dr. Pedro Morales & Dr. Jennifer Mann of The University of Texas at Austin Mathematics/MTCA.

Guess-a-Mole – The University of Texas at Austin’s Council of Graduate Chemists use a guessing game to demonstrate Avogadro’s number. Guess correctly and win a prize.

Math in Music – Use teamwork and timing to make beautiful music with Southwestern University Math Club.

Strong Shapes – Wooden dowels + rubber bands + your creativity = giant structures + fun shapes.

Mind Blowing Shapes – Create your own Möbius strip and play with Klein bottles – shapes that will make you question reality.

Music from Texas Pro DJ all night long!
