The Band of the Royal Marines and the Pipes, Drums and Highland Dancers of the Scots Guards

February 18, 2016 @ 8:00 pm

Tickets go on sale Monday, December 7 at 10AM at TexasBoxOffice.com.

The finest instrumentalists and soloists found in military service today will be on display when The Band of the Royal Marines and the Pipes, Drums and Highland Dancers of the Scots Guards perform at the Frank Erwin Center on Feb. 18! Audiences will be captivated by an evening filled with expertly-delivered music and dance from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales in a grand display of pageantry and ancient military traditions highlighted by precision marches, haunting bagpipes and energetic Highland dancing.

As with all Royal Marines Bands, the principal role is to provide musical support to the Naval Service, but within their secondary role the Band’s men and women undertake a variety of duties by sea and land on active service. Members of the Royal Marines Band Service have been deployed on active duty in all the major conflicts of the last century. In October 2014 members of the Scotland Band were deployed for six months on board the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Ship ARGUS in support of the global effort to combat the Ebola virus.
