Featuring Radney Foster!
On November 14, 2015 ACL Live at the Moody Theatre will go country for RODEO AUSTIN’S BBQ AUCTION & CONCERT. Headlining the event is RADNEY FOSTER, an artist known for his hybrid style of mainstream country and independent Americana.
The Del Rio, Texas native has thrived for 25 years as a songwriter, recording artist, live performer and producer. In the early 1980s, Foster moved to Nashville, where he joined forces with another songwriter, Bill Lloyd. The two put out their first album in 1987 and became the first duo in country music history to score a #1 with their debut single, “Crazy Over You.”
Foster and Lloyd released three groundbreaking albums before parting ways. Foster went on to produce multiple solo country albums leading up to his recently released album, entitled “Revival.” A product of personal change and loss in Foster’s life, the album can be described as raw with almost a spiritual tone.
Also appearing on the album is Dierks Bentley on “Sweet and Wild,” and Darius Rucker on “Angel Flight.” The latter is a tribute to the pilots who fly their fallen brethren home to their final resting places. Foster’s co-writer, Darden Smith, started writing the song after talking to a pilot of the Texas Air National Guard who mentioned he flew the “angel flight.” Smith asked Radney to finish the song with him, and the pair are donating proceeds from the song to a charity that provides assistance to military families affected by tragedy.
