Eric Ross- http://www.soniquariummuzika.com
It started back in the late 80s with the Orlando/Gainesville Fl Rave Scene. Becoming friends with Kimball Collins (one of the first to bring Sasha to the US) and Dave Cannalte (Pleasure Island supa star Dj) Eric was exposed to the Famous AAHZ, (Beacham Theater downtown Orland.) Soon after words, the weekends were spent with the likes of Chris Fortier, Icey, Beacham Crew (Baby Ann and all). With the after parties at Jimmy Van M’s house, Digweed chillen on the front Porch, this became the perfect storm to launch Eric into the Dj world.
Flash Forward to late 90s, Eric found his next adventure in the big, beautiful and brawny & windy city called Chicago. While attending Loyola University, Eric soon found himself playing next to the likes of Derrick Carter, Heather, Jdub, Maurice Joshua, Mark Grant, Dave Seamen, Hybrid, Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Dj Keoki, Darren Emersion and the list goes on and on.
In 2000, Eric started to play overseas and returning to Chicago with Test Pressings and sounds that were hard to come by. During the across the pond adventures, Eric befriended Chicago Artist/Produce Sombionx. It is this meeting that created the first buzz for production. Soon after their meeting, “Dr. Feels Good”
EP was released. The Ep was a Vinyl pressing that was dedicated to the many Venue owners in Chicago for Providing the Canvas for which DJ’s painted their vibe and brought crowds alive.
Eric Launched Soniquarium Muzika label in 2002 out of Chicago. With over 50 releases and many Warehouse and Club parties, he ended up Playing the Playboy Mansion’s “Rock the Playboy Mansion” parties which introduced him to the LA music scene. Now, with a studio in LA and one in San Antonio Tx (Where he is known to hide out), Eric is spending most of his time producing, doing A&R for the New Sub Label – SQ1 and Playing one offs. SQ1 is Eric’s main focus and is in the process of putting more and more venues across the world into the SQ1
