Mesa Drive Family Walk and Ride
December 5, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 2:20 pm
Join neighbors from Mesa Drive and Northwest Hills for a family-friendly ride and walk on Mesa Drive. As you might know, a small group of residents is protesting the City’s plans to add a dedicated bike lane on Mesa Drive between Cat Mountain Drive and Far West Boulevard, despite the traffic calming and safety benefits that a bike lane would bring. Mesa is a critical connection for families bicycling and walking to local schools like Doss Elementary and Murchison Middle School, which currently see over 100 kids riding and walking every day. The bike ride will be fully supported with trainined ride leaders, and we’ll do a safety briefing beforehand for folks who aren’t as comfortable riding in traffic. Come out to support the bike lane and meet your neighbors! RSVP at bikeaustin.org/mesafamily, and sign our petition at bikeaustin.org/mesa.
