Mastering the Psychology of Mind over Muscle
December 2, 2015 @ 6:30 pm
Join us for this panel discussion on the connection between your mind and your muscles and learn how to get the most out of your body in workouts and on race day. Matt Fitzgerald, Tim Catalano, and Adam Goucher will be our experts on the panel, and they are all authors, athletes and coaches themselves.
Matt Fitzgerald is an author, coach, and nutritionist. He is the author of many well-regarded books on running, nutrition, and coaching including his most recent book “How Bad Do You Want It? Mastering the Psychology of Mind over Muscle.” Other recent titles include “80/20 Running,” “Diet Cults,” and “Racing Weight.” Matt also serves as a consultant to numerous sports nutrition companies including Energy First, Healthy Directions, PacificHealth Labs, and Next Proteins.
Adam Goucher and Tim Catalano are co-founders of Run the Edge, an online coaching site, and co-authors of “Running the Edge: Discovering the Secrets to Better Running and a Better Life.” Adam (also known as Mr. Kara Goucher to some!) won 4 NCAA titles at the University of Colorado and 8 individual USA Championships as a pro runner. He also represented the US in the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Tim was a runner at the University of Colorado as well and since then has dedicated his life to psychology and education. He holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a masters degree in Instruction and Curriculum from CU. He was a teacher for 12 years and a head track and cross country coach for 10 years. He has developed a passion to combine the teachings of psychology and the sport of running.
After the panel, Matt, Tim, and Adam will hang around for book signings and individual questions.
