Julian Acosta Day

June 18 @ 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$15

Austin, Texas, is famous for celebrating life. This Sunday we get to celebrate the life of one of Austin’s newest son’s with a pool party for it’s Julian Acosta Day in Austin June 18th.

Julian Acosta is real Rock & Roll in the 21st Century. His voice & performance project pure human soul and emotion. His vibe is intertwined with charming soul, blues and rock & roll. Authentic, free-spirited, and his educated attitude make him an elegant hippie for a lack of better words!

This Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 12 pm to sundown, we celebrate Julian Acosta Day. The W Hotel will be hosting a pool party open to the public at the W Hotel wet deck. (W Austin Hotel, 200 Lavaca St, Austin, TX 78701)

Julian first caught our Mayor Steve Adler’s attention in 2015 when he received the proclamation of an official Julian Acosta Day June 18th.  His first single, music video,  and song “This Town” became the most  creative love letter to Austin, Tx. “Mr. Adler is a great man,” said
Julian. “ I’ve had the honor to run into him at several functions and It’s always a pleasure to shake his hand. I was so inspired by the moxie Austin has and wanted to describe what I felt in earning my stripes  to being a part of such an amazing community. This will be the third Julian Acosta Day but we have never celebrated like this before. It’s gonna be epic finger guns worthy.”

At the party this Sunday, Kube Sound will be streaming his new single “Cinnamon” for the first time before it’s officially released with Independent Ear Records. “Cinnamon” is Acosta’s  sound following his debut EP, “High 5,” released in September 2015.

Let’s backtrack to Independent Ear for a moment. Our young Austin legend has teamed up with Rockford, IL based Independent Ear to release new single “Cinnamon.”

Q: Julian, does that mean you’re leaving Austin?

A: “No Sir! I wouldn’t dream of it. I have a team here that communicates with Illinois.
I’m actually sooo happy to travel outside of Austin though. I’ve been on tour since January so I’m at about 50+ shows so far this year. I enjoy being on the road for the sights, the traveling, my work, and the adventures. Then I get to come home to Austin to experience a more powerful and refreshing perception.”

Q: Ryan, why did you decide to work with Julian?

“We had been looking at him for over a year. He has a vibe about him that you can’t replicate, and I know where we can take him. He is the Epitome of the word HUSTLE and that is why we love this opportunity to work with Julian” says Independent Ear Founder Phillip Ryan Block.

Q: Julian, how would you describe your experience so far?

“My whole dynamic changed  when I found out that I get a real team in my corner and they push me to focus where I belong the most… creativity. We talked about everything for over a month before. Then it just became clear to me. My works needed expansion, and if I know what’s good for me, I need to sign with them. I felt belief without doubt, hands on dedication, and support by a team that wasn’t something I could get just anywhere.  We talk every day, and we have a ton of really cool things coming up. It’s actually hard work though. If I have ever felt like I was working hard, I’m working like I haven’t before. Which is great! I’ve also never felt so clear headed, healthy, or in such a  right mindset than the way I feel right now. I have so much work to do and I feel lucky that I get to be doing this. It’s what I set out to do.”

What is Cinnamon About?

“If I take a pinch of cinnamon and put it in your drink or food without you knowing… no matter what kind of food you’re into, you’ll recognize it and change the recipe. Much like love; when when it is present, you’ll know it. No matter the skin, sexual orientation, or profession, we are are entitled to it.” explained Acosta.

“Like the best kind of cinnamon, the best kind of love is that pure,” Acosta said.  “The only thing that can stop you from noticing cinnamon is your taste buds, and the only thing that can make you deny love is lack of feelings – that is the bittersweet imperfection in all of us.” The “oh’s” represent being tongue tied and inability to communicate love. There is also the innocence of the sex appeal. When we were teens, your favorite crush had you tongue tied; and and at some point we were the crush.. Word vomit naturally takes over.” Julian further explained

His highly anticipated new single “Cinnamon” will be available via all digital retailers on July 7th, 2017 followed by a show at the Mohawk July 8th.

It will be a gathering to remember this Sunday as this whole week embarks a large step in this young man’s career as a rising star.

Q:Any Last words before Sunday Julian?
A:“You bring the water gun’s, I’ll bring the finger guns Austin.”
