Japanese Fall Festival/Aki Matsuri

Come Join Us and Have Fun!

Taiko drums, Japanese classical buyo dance and festive dance, traditional musical instruments, the beauty of the Chanoyu tea ceremony, Japanese martial arts, J-fashion show, Cosplay & fashion contest,  — all this will bring the esthetic gifts of Japanese culture to Austin and Central Texas during the 2018 Japan Fall Festival ~ JASGA’s 12th Aki Matsuri.

Visitors will enjoy a range of Japanese food and sweets, a drink sampler, Japanese arts, games, anime goods, a yukata booth, calligraphy, hands-on origami, and Japanese traditional and contemporary entertainment. In addition, there will be a Silent Auction for items such as an airline tickets to Japan, restaurants and massage/spa gift certificates, Japanese art collections and books,  anime & festive goods, games, kimono, Obi sash, accessories, door prizes, and much more!

Those who wear trendy Japanese fashions such as Tokyo street fashion, lolīta fashion, cosplay, and kimono or yukata participants are always welcome. You may win at the fashion contest!

The students who are taking Japanese language classes at McCallum, LASA, St. Steven’s high schools will operate the Japanese game corner. The students from Ellison high school visit us at the JASGA’s Aki Matsuri every year. JASGA’s Japanese and Shodo calligraphy students will present own their progress.
