“India’s Daughter” film screening and panel discussion

“India’s Daughter” (2015) tells the story of the brutal gang rape and murder of an exceptional young woman. Her death sparked unprecedented protests and led to the first glimmers of a change of mindset. The film examines the society and values which spawn such violent acts, and makes an optimistic and impassioned plea for change.

Panelists Include:
– Mamata Misra, Former Director of SAHELI (now AFSSA)
– Samira Ghosh, Advocate, Asian Family Support Services Of Austin
– Divya Bheda, Board Member, Asian/Asian American Faculty and Staff Association at UT Austin
