Impact Hub Austin “Community Showcase Day” for Workforce Development Accelerator

June 25, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm - Free

Coworking space and social innovation leader Impact Hub Austin announces a “Community Showcase Day” for their Workforce Development Accelerator, where the nine local teams have spent three months developing their ventures – all of which are geared at creating solutions to Austin’s workforce challenges. In attendance will be community advocates, investors, subject matter experts, entrepreneurs and leaders from government, nonprofit and business sectors. This event will take place Monday, June 25 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Impact Hub Monroe St. (411 W. Monroe St., Austin, Texas 78704). The event will be free and open to the community. To RSVP for the event, please follow this link:

Sponsors for the accelerator include Google, JPMorgan Chase, Capital City Innovation, Build Fax and Digi.City; Community Advisors include Workforce Solutions Capital Area, Austin Community College Continued Education, Goodwill of Central Texas and Assemble.

The Workforce Development Accelerator is composed of nine groups aiming to create efficiencies in a fragmented workforce system, bridge the gap between underemployed and gainfully employed and connect underrepresented talent pools to available opportunities. The cohort includes 3 Day Startup, Alcye, Austin Coding Academy, Central Texas Allied Health Institute, Hernandez Hospitality LLC, KeyUp, MediaTech Ventures Collective, PelotonU and #WI (Workforce Inclusion).

On “Community Showcase Day,” attendees will hear from each venture about their purpose for existing, the specific workforce challenge they are addressing, the progress they’ve made, what they’ve learned, how they’ve adjusted, and what support they need from the community to continue their growth beyond the accelerator.
