Our topic: Latino Identity and Civic Engagement
We know the Latino population is only getting bigger. We’ve got the numbers: 53 Million Latinos living in the U.S. making them 17% of the nation’s population. But do we really understand their identity, experiences and communities especially in civic engagement? As we know, Latinos are not monolithic and when we dig deeper into their identity (how they identify as Latinos, immigrants and Americans), we can begin to understand the Latino experiences and their roles in the community and civic engagement. Join us for a discussion on understanding Latino identity and how we can engage Latinos to become more involved in the community, leadership and support our communities.
