Get Your Money: Registering for SoundExchange, Collecting Performance Royalties and Union IP Funds
September 16, 2015 @ 4:00 pm
Over the past few months the ATX Music Office has worked with both SoundExchange and the Intellectual Property Rights Distribution Fund of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and SAG-AFTRA unions to identify a partial, working list of Austin artists with unclaimed royalties at both organizations. Those lists of the Austin artists, musicians, and vocalists with unclaimed royalties are available now via http://www.atxmusic.org
The workshop is free, open to the public, and all musicians are encouraged to attend. Sean Glover Senior Manager, Artist & Industry Relations of SoundExchange from Washington, DC will be on site to help artists sign up to claim their SoundExchange royalties.
Austin attorney and TALA contributor Chris Castle will lead the informational workshop, which is focused on how musicians can claim royalties earned from webcasting and satellite radio. Representatives from the Austin Chapter of the American Federation of Musicians will be present to assist musicians with signing up for the IP fund distribution.
