Community Conversations: The City
August 25 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Free
The Community Conversations series is designed to invite consideration of Vincent Valdez’s The City through close looking, understanding of the artist’s process and intentions, and wide-ranging conversation about racism in our society. Two facilitators—a Blanton staff member and community leader–will frame the discussion and encourage thoughtful conversation with a group of visitors interested in dialogue. Each session will last about 45 minutes and be limited to 50 participants.*
★Please check in with our Visitor Services Desk at least 10-15 minutes before the program begins due to limited capacity.★
This event will be facilitated by Ray Williams, Director of Education and Academic Affairs, Blanton Museum and our Community Partner Nelson Linder, President of the Austin Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
