The People’s Gallery is a free, annual exhibition designed to showcase regional artists and to encourage public dialog, understanding, and enjoyment of visual art. At each Art After Six event, three local artists whose work is featured in the 2016 exhibition will give short presentations about their bodies of work and artistic processes. The featured artists represent a range of sensibilities and materials, from abstract sculpture to narrative photography, from fiber works to painting and portraiture. More information about the exhibition and the Art After Six series is available at www.austintexas.gov/peoplesgallery.

Visitors to City Hall can view the People’s Gallery during regular building hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Admission is always free. The 2016 exhibition will remain on display through early January 2017. The goal of the exhibition and its related programming is to reflect the artistic experience and cultural diversity of Austin, while promoting the creative sector as an economic engine for the city.
