He specializes in identity work, poster design, illustration, and their applications in social media. Zavala’s work reflects his interest in popular culture, especially art, fashion, music, and literature. His use of illustration, collage, and custom typography creates layered and evocative imagery.

Zavala has published in Graphis New Talent Annual for 2011 and is the winner of several awards: the Sue Reynolds Memorial Award; a Ralph Award at the 2010 Creative Summit; and winner of the 2010 DSVC David Kampa Judges Choice Award. His work on Elumicor’s print ads won BradfordLawton, LLC a 2011 Gold Addy. Two of his illustrations have been published in I.T Post Magazine (F/W 2012). Zavala had his first solo exhibition of poster designs at Silkwörm Gallery, San Antonio in May 2013. Zavala’s digital collages, Floral Alchemy, commissioned by Cedar Communications (an international creative and commercial content agency), was featured in the creative community website Behance in June 2012 as well as the publication Plant Kingdom: Design with Plant Aesthetics 2015.
