Austin Symphony Presents Masterworks IV: “From Russia with Love” featuring Violinist Jennifer Frautschi

January 8, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - January 9, 2016 @ 10:00 pm

Your Austin Symphony and violinist Jennifer Frautschi are going to serve you up some hot music during the cold winter season with three pieces all written while the composers were living in Russia. You don’t want to miss hearing Jennifer perform the Wieniawski on her 1722 Antonio Stradivarius violin known as the “ex-Cadiz,” which is on generous loan to her from a private American foundation.

Still want more? How about playing on some string instruments provided by our friends at Violin’s Etc.? We also have a wonderful pre-concert talk given by Bob Buckalew at 7:10 pm. How about “tweeting” with our musicians and Maestro Bay? The Austin Symphony wants you to get the most out of your concert experience. “Come Hear What’s Next” for you and your Austin Symphony!

Program:

Sergei Prokofiev-Winter Bonfire, Op. 122: Waltz on the Ice & Departure

Henryk Wieniawski-Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Minor, Op. 22

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky-Symphony No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 13, Winter Daydreams
