“Jason Segel is a revelation” – Entertainment Weekly

One of the most talked about films at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, THE END OF THE TOUR features a transformational performance by Jason Segal, who plays the late star author, David Foster Wallace. Wallace’s suicide in 2008 prompted the publication of a memoir by David Lipsky about a five day interview that was conducted in person with Wallace in 1996 around the release of his masterpiece, INFINITE JEST. The interview, commissioned by Rolling Stone, was never published, but when Lipsky unearthed the tapes, they brought forth the life-changing days long conversation between the two writers. Ponsoldt’s film is a sensitively imagined, brilliantly acted adaptation, and a humanist rendering of a larger-than-life cultural icon.
