AFS Presents: PARTICLE FEVER

November 22, 2015 @ 6:00 pm

DIRECTED BY MARK LEVINSON

USA, 2013, DCP, 99 min

Introducing Austin’s first Science on Screen program! Throughout the next year, AFS will present a program of films with science and technology themes followed by moderated public conversations with working scientists. Our first in the series, PARTICLE FEVER, is the critically acclaimed and award-winning documentary about the launch of the Large Hadron Collider, one of the biggest scientific discoveries of our time. Following the screening, we’ll have a conversation about particle theory, the Big Bang, and the origins of the universe with University of Texas’ Can Kilic, a researcher of Theoretical Particle Physics and Dark Matter. Science on Screen is an initiative of the Coolidge Corner Theater, with major support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
