Egg Hunt and Picnic at the Capitol – Saturday, March 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Join First UMC and the Easter Bunny for an early egg hunt and picnic. Southwest Family YMCA Easter Egg Hunt – Sunday, March 29 from 1-4:00 p.m. Activities will include a petting zoo, moonwalks, bounce houses, pictures with the Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunts, and face painting. Three separate egg hunts will take place: infants and toddlers (0-3 years of age) will hunt at 1:30 p.m.; ages 4-7 will hunt at 2:30 p.m.; and anyone and everyone wishing to participate is welcome to partake in the 3:30 p.m. hunt. Community Easter Egg Hunt – Thursday, April 2 at 4:00 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to hunt for the thousands of eggs hidden around the Huston-Tillotson University campus. The Easter egg hunt features a $500 scholarship prize egg, prize eggs for school supplies and gift certificates, and eggs with candy and coins. Children will gather in the Mary E. Community Easter Extravaganza – Friday, April 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00p.m. The Easter Bunny is in town and he’s hopping his hoppety hop way to Turner-Roberts Rec Center. Easter Egg Dye-O-Rama – Friday, April 3 from Noon to 4:00 p.m. Learn the art of Ukrainian or Psyanky egg dyeing from Austin artist Katy David. The museum will be open for tours and there will be games set up on the front lawn. Children of all ages are invited to enter into a raffle to win prizes. The fruits of everyone’s effort will be donated to Ronald McDonald House to cheer families of patients who are away from home dealing with serious health issues. Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, March 28 at 9:00 a.m. There will be 25,000 candy eggs to gather and a grand prize egg for each age division. Grand prize baskets are donated by the Primrose School of Georgetown. Each age division will be assigned a specific softball field to carry out their hunt. Annual Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, April 4 from 9-10:15 a.m. Children of all ages can greet the Easter Bunny and Hutto Hippo and hunt for goodies on the hill at Fritz Park. Helicopter Egg Drop – Saturday, April 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 50,000 eggs will be dropped from a helicopter in a designated zone for the kids. There will be multiple drops for different age groups, as well as a specific area just for toddlers. For each hunt the drop zone will be cleared, eggs will be dropped from the helicopter, and the children will be released to collect the eggs. The first drop will start at 11:30 a.m. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be fun activities for the entire family including inflatables, face painting, a photo booth, a playground.
