Easter is April 16th this year and celebrations are happening all over town. Here’s a list of egg hunts, bunny sightings, and other Easter fun in and around Austin for 2017!

Community Easter Egg Hunt
April 13 at 4:00 p.m.   |   Huston-Tillotson University, 900 Chicon St, Austin   |   FREE
Children of all ages are invited to hunt for thousands of eggs hidden around the Huston-Tillotson University campus. The Easter egg hunt features a $500 scholarship prize egg, prize eggs for school supplies and gift certificates, and eggs with candy and coins. Children will gather in the Mary E. Branch Gymnasium for a brief meaning of Easter story time before joining their age groups and beginning the hunt. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Pinballz Easter Egg Hunt (RSVP)
April 14 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  |   The Original Pinballz Arcade, 8940 Research Blvd, Ste 100, Austin   |   $5 per child
Children ages 12 and under are invited, with their parents, to bring baskets and hunt for colorful, prize filled Easter eggs. Plus, children can get their picture with the Easter Bunny. Tickets are $5 per child. To RSVP you may register online and a Pinballz employee will call you to get signed up.

Egg Egg Festival and Picnic at the Capitol
April 15 from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  |    Texas State Capitol Grounds at 12th & Colorado Sts, Austin    |    FREE
Bring your cameras, blankets, Easter baskets, and a picnic lunch. Barbecue and hot dogs will be available for sale with all proceeds supporting First UMC’s Eurasia Mission Team. A Stony’s Pizza food truck will also be onsite. This event is open to the public, so bring your friends and non-perishable food donations for the Capital Area Food Bank. The Capitol lawn will have face painting, crafts, games, and more. A visit from the Easter Bunny is a special tradition.

Wells Branch Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt (Hutto)

Due to the construction at Fritz Park, the Easter Bunny will be taking a new path through Hutto this year. He’ll travel and spread his Easter goodies through Fritz Park, Hutto Lake Park, Country Estates, and Creekside Parks. He will take a break in Downtown Hutto, where he will be happy to meet with children and families who would like to have their photos taken and say hello. The Easter Bunny will be there until 11:30 a.m.

Play For All Special Needs Egg Hunt (Round Rock)
April 8 at 9:00 a.m.  |   Play for All Abilities Park, 151 N A W Grimes Blvd, Round Rock    |   FREE
This family-centered event focuses on active participation for children with various disabilities or limitations. Hunt for the eggs high and low; look for the golden eggs for special prizes. Special needs children and their siblings can participate in this hunt. The event is free but pre-registration is encouraged. Participant spaces are limited, so sign up early to secure your space. Please register all hunters for their desired time. Onsite registration will be allowed based on open spaces in each hunt time. You may pick up your egg hunt wristband on April 7 & 8 at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center or on site the day of the event. Bring your registration confirmation to pick up your wristband. Check the Facebook page for updated information.

San Marcos Easter Egg Drop

Easter Egg Drop Extravaganza (San Marcos)
April 8 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  |   San Marcos High School, 2601 E McCarty Ln, San Marcos   |   FREE
Don’t miss the largest Easter egg hunt the San Marcos area has ever seen. 75,000 eggs will be dropped from a helicopter in a designated zone for the kids. There will be multiple drops for different age groups as well as a specific area just for toddlers and for those with sensory sensitivity. The first helicopter drop will be happening around 11:30 a.m., so be sure to arrive early. In addition to the Easter egg hunt, there will be inflatables, face painting, photo booths, and even a live DJ. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to take pictures with children.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunts and Movie in the Park (Round Rock)

The sun has set and the moon shines bright; time for an egg hunt in the night. A treat filled hunt ring waits for you; eggs, candy, prizes, and lots of fun too! Bring your flashlight and a basket to fill; it’s so exciting you can’t sit still. A few special prize eggs colored bright gold; redeem it for a prize basket that you now hold. You won’t want to miss, so join in on the fun; stay for a movie when the hunt is done. Faith4Life’s 2nd Annual Spring Eggstravaganza (Round Rock)
