Austin Town Hall has a new compilation record out, Slack Capital 2, highlighting 27 great Austin bands raising money for a good cause. The new album is supporting a local domestic violence charity called SafePlace, which provides support to domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
One of the songs featured on the album is “I Had to Do It” by local band Daniel Francis Doyle and The Dreams. This is the Dreams’ latest release in several years, and also slotted to be their last. The song offers up an homage to 80’s alt rockers The Talking Heads, interlaced with all of the quirkiness of a band born in Austin.
