You Can’t Road Trip Without a Stop at Buc-ee’s! These Are The 10 Best Snacks To Snatch Up While You’re There

If you’ve been to the mecca of all gas stations, then you know what we’re talking about. But, for those of you have not made a road trip pit-stop at the best gas station (yeah, we said it) then prepare yourself.

Most gas stations and rest stops usually have you cringing and guessing about the cleanliness of the restroom. Or, if you’re hungry, the hotdog underneath the heat lamp is looking less than desirable. Gas stations are usually a get in, get out kind of situation.

Buc-ee’s is more than just a convenience store and gas station. Of course you can pump gas on one of their 120 gas pumps or relieve yourself in the cleanest restrooms on earth, but you can also get your road trip feast on with their extensive, and somewhat famous, snacks and treats. You’ll find the normal gas station fares like Doritos, Skittles, fountain sodas, etc., but we’ve put together a list of the 10 best snacks to grab while at Buc-ee’s so you don’t miss out. And don’t worry about accidentally missing a Buc-ee’s on the highway, the dozens of billboards telling you which exit will pave the way.

These are the 10 Best Buc-ee’s road trip snacks!

1. Beaver Nuggets

Hilariously named, insanely addicting. Beaver nuggets are Buc-ee’s most iconic snack. Think of a puffy Cheeto, but crunchier, with a sweet, slightly caramel taste. If you put these in a bowl with some milk and eat them as cereal we won’t tell anyone.

2. Jerky

The jerky counter at Buc-ee’s is a dreamland of dried meats and flavors. There are dozens of different types of flavors and meats to choose from. Our favorite is the Bohemian Garlic Beef Jerky. Don’t forget to pair it with a stick of cheese.

3. Fudge

With over 20 different types of homemade fudge, you’re bound to find a flavor (or three) that you want to snack on in the car. Our recommendation is the chocolate caramel nuggets and peanuts.

4. Candied Pecans

There’s just something about hot, candied nuts. They’re just the right amount of sweet and salty, and the perfect touch of honey. While Bucee’s serves cashews, almonds, and pecans, we think pecans are the best.

5. House-Made Potato Chips with a BBQ Brisket Breakfast Taco

You’re probably thinking, “I would never trust a gas station with all of those flavors.” And if you’re thinking that, you’re totally wrong. If you’re planning on getting this meal, make sure you’re hungry. The tacos are enormous. The best part about this Texas BBQ is that you don’t have to wait in a three-hour long line for it.

6. Hot Sauce or Salsa

This is a Buc-ee’s purchase that would be a great gift. When you gift this to your non-Buc-ee’s knowing friends or family, be sure to enlighten them of the glory that is this Texas gas station. Our favorites are the Mango Pineapple Habanero Salsa and the 7-Pot Primo Pepper Hot Sauce.

7. Boudin Kolaches

What the heck is a kolache? Wait, what is boudin? We’ll break it down for you. Kolaches are some of the most coveted bakery treat in Texas. Originating from Czech immigrants, this soft, doughy pastry can be stuffed with sweet or savory fillings. Boudin is a mix of Cajun spices, dirty rice, and a protein, usually sausage, shrimp, or crawfish. Put those two together and you have one heck of a road trip snack.

8. Jalapeño White Cheddar Popcorn

A super easy snack to munch on while you’re driving, Buc-ee’s created the perfect blend of slow heat from the jalapeños with the rich cheddar cheese taste.

9. Big Red

This native Texan soda is a must. Quench your thirst with this red cream soda that has been compared to tasting like bubblegum all the way to cotton candy.

10. Official Buc-ee’s T-Shirt

While obviously you can’t snack on a clothing item, we think it’s important to peruse the clothing section while at Buc-ee’s and snag a shirt. We prefer the camo or tie-dye shirts with the giant Buc-ee the Beaver face on it so all your non-Texas friends can be left wondering why you have a giant cartoon beaver on your chest.
