AUSTIN (KVUE) — The Travis County Heman Marion Sweatt Courthouse is a Downtown Austin landmark used as the civil and family courthouse, but like most buildings constructed in 1931 it needs some work.
For instance, earlier this month a hot water heater burst flooding parts of the 4th floor.
“It is in disrepair, it is overwhelmed, it is unsafe. And it is time to replace it,” said Genevieve Van Cleve, Campaign Manager for the Civil and Family Courthouse Bond Campaign.
