Radio personality Bobby Bones, whose rise to fame began right here in Austin, brought in big bucks for St. Jude on Monday night with help from some friends in high places.

Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots Million Dollar Show for St. Jude was a celebration of past fundraising success for the research hospital. Over the past three years, the gang has raised roughly $3.8 million.
Now they can add another $2 million to the tally, thanks to Garth Brooks.
As Brooks handed the over-sized check to Bones, he said, “What I love is this paycheck isn’t going to you, and I know that’s what you love about it, too.”
The duo then led the audience in a rousing rendition of “Friends in Low Places.”
Other performers at the sold-out Nashville event included The Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt, Brothers Osborne, Thomas Rhett, and Caitlyn Smith.

While Bones’ nationally syndicated weekday radio program The Bobby Bones Show currently originates in Nashville, the show began right here in Austin on 96.7 KISS FM. For 10 years, the Bobby Bones Show crew honed their craft and became the top-rated morning show in Austin. In 2012, they made the move to Nashville, transitioning from the Top 40 format to a country one and launching the show nationwide.
Bones and his co-hosts keep close ties to Austin, the city where it all began. He frequently returns to his home here and Lunchbox got married right here in the ATX in 2015.
In addition to the St. Jude efforts, you will frequently hear the gang #pimpinjoy on KASE 101. A celebration dedicated to people who may be going through rough times but choose to find and spread joy. The mantra has evolved into a fundraising effort and was inspired by co-host Amy’s late mother, Joy.
