Birthday Ideas To Make Your Child’s Celebration Special Even During Quarantine

Struggling with how to plan your child’s birthday celebration while social distancing? The struggle is real! But luckily, we found some creative birthday ideas that will still make the day memorable for your little one.

A friend of the Free Fun gang shared pictures and tips on a party parade they hosted earlier this month. Austin Yard Cards provided a sign for their yard and they asked friends to drive by and have their kids wave and shout out birthday wishes from the car window. They even gave out individually wrapped cookies as party favors via a fishing pole. The cookies (and custom cake) came from Central Market (Sugar Mamas Bakeshop on South 1st also offers individually wrapped treats).

Here are a few other options.

Host a Dinner Party For the Family
Pretend the dining room is a fancy restaurant and treat your family to a night of fine dining – which could simply consist of carryout from your child’s favorite Austin restaurant.

Set Up a Scavenger Hunt.
Hide presents around the house and come up with creative clues for your child to find them.

Plan A Virtual Party
Plan a party with friends on FaceTime, Google Hangouts or Zoom where you can have a read-a-long, play a game and sing “happy birthday” together.
