Looking to spend some quality time with your furry friend this July? Or perhaps you wish to be surrounded by dogs, cats, and even goats? Well, here you go. We’ve rounded up the best pet-friendly events happening in Austin all month long. Some are free. Some have fees. Some are for kids. Some are for adults. Because who doesn’t love animals? Be sure to click through for all the details on each event.

Kitty Cafe
July 3 | from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. | Pflugerville Library, 1008 Pfluger St., Pflugerville
Socialize with adoptable felines from Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) and enjoy a drink. Anyone 5 and up is welcome to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Work and Woof Yappy Hour
July 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 | from 5:30 to 7 p.m. | Work and Woof, 4930 S. Congress Ave., Bldg. A
We know how busy we all get during the week! We got a ton of requests for the dog play park to be open during the week so that you 9-5ers have a place to run your dog INDOORS and FENCED in after work! Starting every Wednesday join us from 5:30 to 7:00pm for Yappy Hour! Same rules apply (6+ months old, spayed/neutered, up to date on shots) but it’s only $5! We are BYOB! If you are a monthly pass holder your pass WILL cover Yappy Hour!* Tell your friends, Austin you now have a clean, indoor place to drink and run your dog after work!

First Sundays Yappy Hour
July 7 | from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | South Congress Hotel, 1603 South Congress Ave.
There’s no better way to start your day with a (s)bark than on South Congress at First Sunday Yappy Hours! Starting in April, local brands Grocery Pup and Wondercide are cohosting Yappy Hours at South Congress Hotel every first Sunday, through October. Enjoy Juice Society samples, live music by DJ Cassandra and a variety of fun pop ups from other local pup brands while your furry friend chows down on fresh Grocery Pup and is pampered with swag. See you and your pack there!

Austin Bassett Hounds at Zilker Park
July 7 | from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Zilker Park, 2100 Barton Springs Rd.

Work and Woof Turns One
July 13 | from 12 to 4 p.m. | Work and Woof, 4930 S. Congress Ave., Bldg. A
We are so excited to share this incredible milestone with you! We will have food trucks, prizes, activities and LOTS of celebrating! All pups MUST follow our house rules: Spayed/Neutered, up to date on Vaccines (registered in our system) and 6+ months old! All tickets are $8 with a portion of ticket sales going to a local rescue. Because we are donating to a rescue, all humans will have to purchase a ticket to come inside. The entire Work and Woof staff will be on site to supervise play but please make sure that you keep an eye on your dog and be mindful if your pup has any aggression issues or separation anxiety. Any dog that exhibits extreme behavior will be asked to leave. Thank you for understanding.

BYOD Austin Peanut Butter Pawty
July 13 | from 1 to 3 p.m. | Oskar Blues Brewery, 10420 Metric Blvd. Ste. 150
Together, the BYOD pack and Oskar Blues Brewery are coming together to invite you and your pup to an afternoon of tail wags, peanut butter, and great brews. Humans will enjoy beefy brews, while dogs enjoy peanut butter tasting and a peanut butter licking contest. $10 FOR NON-BYOD MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT.

Summer Kids Series: Outdoor Movie Night
July 18 | from 7:30 to 10 p.m.| Austin Humane Society, 124 West Anderson Lane
Grab your picnic basket and load up your pack for a family-friendly movie night at the Austin Humane Society. These once a month events will feature an animal-themed movie fit for the entire family. Plus, we’ll have concessions, games, and kid’s activities, too. Movie nights will be held outside on the AHS lawn. The movie will start at sundown. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun! (In the event of rain, the movie will be shown inside the AHS Auditorium)

Practice your poses and say hello to our adoptable kittens with an hour-long beginner-friendly yoga session and an extra half hour of kitty playtime. You never know, you might meet your newest furry family member! Not required to take a kitty home, but how can you resist?! Space is limited, so secure your spot today. All proceeds from this awesome event go to Austin Pets Alive! Your contribution to APA! goes straight to work helping thousands of animals—both at the shelter and through animal programs all across the communities we serve. Suggested Donation: $25 Two class times:

Puppy Yoga Benefitting Happy Hearts Dog Rescue

Dog Restaurant Week
July 22 through 28 | Times Vary | Locations Vary
From July 22 to 28, you can bring your pooch to a local patio and treat them to a fantastic summertime feast, thanks to Dog Restaurant Week. The fido-friendly menu includes options like pup’s pastries, beef sliders and pumpkin truffles. While on the patio with your pup, cool off with a special cocktail for humans and a portion of the proceeds will go towards animal nonprofits. Participating Restaurants: Irene’s, Opal Divine’s. Red’s Porch (all three locations), Revelry on the Boulevard and Rustic Tap Beer Garden.

Eat Pizza, Pet Puppies and Help Vets!

Eat Pizza to benefit The Dog Alliance! CPK will be giving 20% of sales to The Dog Alliance all day on Tuesday July 23, just be sure to tell them you’re there for The Dog Alliance Fundraiser. We’ll have some of the service dogs in training there practicing around 11:45.

Animal Friends Tour

You’re invited to take a look behind the scenes during our Animal Friends Tour located at our shelter. This guided tour takes you through Austin’s longest standing no-kill shelter! Together you’ll hear stories of transformation and learn from our leadership team how our Animal Friends Giving Club members provide us the stability we need to help change the lives of the more than 12,000 animals each year. Enjoy coffee, pastries, and networking among fellow animal lovers. There will be time for questions and information about new ways to get involved and help animals.

Cause for Paws Tatoopalooza

Continuing its tradition, ArtHouse Tattoo Austin is excited to announce its 12th Cause for Paws Tattoopalooza event in partnership with Austin Pets Alive!, the largest no-kill shelter in the country. Come get inked for a cause, and help us spread some furry love throughout Austin community.

Mega Mutt Mondays
July 29 | from 6 to 9 p.m. | Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden, 79 Rainey St.
Your dog’s favorite hang out session is back at Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden! We will have live music, an off-leash dog park, live music by Sophia Johnson, and drink specials from Austin Eastciders! Austin Pets Alive! will be in the garden with their cutest adoptable dogs and all Woof Wurst sales will benefit the center.

Yappy Hour – National Mutt Day
July 31 | from 5 to 7 p.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Lane
Celebrate National Mutt Day with AHS! Join fellow dog lovers (and cat lovers, too!) for our special dog-themed yappy hour here at our shelter. Help socialize adoptable dogs and enjoy our doggie play groups all while enjoying some of your favorite local brews and light snacks. You’ll have a chance to meet AHS leadership and learn more about how monthly gifts from members of the Animal Friends Giving Club are helping pups in our care right now.
