Austin’s 10 Most Romantic Spots To Take Couples Photos

Love is in the air, as they say, and your love is epic — right?

If your romance is the stuff of songs, then it should be chronicled effectively. Skip the mediocre selfies with your beloved this year and head straight to one or more of Austin’s 10 most romantic locations for taking adorable couples photos, on Valentine’s Day or any day!

10.) You’re not an official Austin couple until you’ve taken a pic with the “I Love You So Much” mural…

We give you permission to be cliché, but just this once and only at Jo’s on SoCo!

9.) … and the Lamar Train Bridge graffiti.

Shoot from the middle of the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge to capture the graffiti and ATX’s skyline behind you. S Lamar Blvd & W Riverside Dr.

8.) The “You’re My Butter Half” mural will keep you humble…

ATX’s iconic “You’re My Butter Half” mural is located at the United Way building in East Austin, right across from Bennu Coffee. Just don’t expect to look THIS cute. 2000 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.

7.) … And enjoying nature together will Make sparks fly.

Bull Creek District Park, the Barton Creek Greenbelt, McKinney Falls State Park, or any of Austin’s other natural areas will provide you and your significant other with plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and each other on Valentine’s Day.

6.) If you like wide open spaces and pretty buildings, Zilker’s For you.

Say yes to true love and Texas sunsets and really really green bikes at Zilker Park2100 Barton Springs Rd.

5.) You should really Profess your love with a little macabre at the ‘Til Death Do Us Part mural.

If you’ve never taken a photo with this lesser known Austin mural, you definitely need to grab your sweetheart and go. You’ll find it on the north wall of the Goodwill near HOPE Outdoor Gallery — aka. “Castle Hill.” 914 N Lamar Blvd.

4.) And while you’re in the neighborhood, shoot a selfie at Castle Hill.

We highly recommend that you explore the three-tiered graffiti park known as HOPE Outdoor Gallery and take like a billion photos of you and your Valentine. Make sure to climb all the way to the top! 11th St & Baylor St.

3.) There’s no better place to capture an epic view (and a kiss) than at Mt. Bonnell…

Seriously, what a view of West Austin! 3800 Mt Bonnell Rd.

2.) … Except perhaps at the 360 Bridge Overlook.

Just before the Pennybacker Bridge along Loop 360, you’ll find an unofficial trail leading up to a bluff overlooking Lake Austin. Park on the northwest side of the bridge in the small gravel pullout area. 5300 N Capital of Texas Hwy.

1.) But ultimately, our favorite romantic Austin photo location is… in the Street!

Just be careful in the crosswalks. Be smart, yo! South 1st St, South Congress Ave.

Already exhausted this list? You’ll find a few more suggestions in our article about Austin’s most Instagram-worthy selfie spots, so be sure to document some sweet moments with your boo at those locations as well.

Now, if you’re an Austin single aiming to navigate Valentine’s Day without getting down on yourself, then plan to avoid the aforementioned areas AT ALL COST on February 14. It would also be a good idea to brush up on your other Single’s Awareness Day survival skills in the meantime.

Best wishes for you and yours this Valentine’s Day!
