Austin Weekend Bucket List: Friday, February 5 to Sunday, February 7

Listen to this post with Alexa!

Austin boasts almost limitless possibilities when making weekend plans and things can get overwhelming, but we’re here to help!

Check out what’s on our Austin weekend bucket list for February 5 through 7:

Gati Ice Cream | 1512 Holly Street

Ice cream in the winter? It’s possible when you live in Central Texas! Since temps are supposed to be in the 70s this weekend, how about grabbing some ice cream? We even found you a healthier option!

Gati Ice Cream specializes in coconut-based ice cream, with most flavors including just four ingredients or less. This unique shop also has a 100% gluten-free and mostly vegan bakery.

Ice cream, cookies and brownies! Oh my!  Who wouldn’t want to try all of their delicious-looking treats, even if you’re not adverse to lactose or gluten or animal products.

Check out their website, www.gattiicecream.com for more info, and go get you an ice cream cone.

Onion Creek Greenbelt | 7002 Onion Creek Drive

Greenbelts are aplenty in the Austin area, which makes deciding which one to go to all the more difficult. Our solution: Go to every single one of them. Multiple times. This weekend though, try out the Onion Creek Greenbelt. This regional park is 555 acres, and it has an off-leash dog policy. There are also tons of hiking and walking trails as well as a pond.

So grab your water, your best friend (four-legged or not) and head out to another beautiful natural area in the ATX.

Machine Head Coffee | 1701 East MLK Jr. Boulevard

Coffee, with a side of tacos. Um, yes please! Machine Head Coffee will provide you with any delicious coffee drink you desire, from lattes to cappuccinos and more, to help you get through all your weekend adventures. Be sure to come hungry too, as they partner with Veracruz All Natural, a health-conscious, but oh-so-delcious authentic Mexican eatery.

Hit Up A Farmer’s Market

No matter what part of town you live in, there’s surely a farmer’s market nearby. You can check out our monthly events list for details on a few – or review this master list of Austin area farmer’s markets.

Play Super Bowl Bingo

Whether you’re watching with friends or keeping it super socially distant with your family, we outline a few ways to really enjoy the big game this Sunday. And one of those ways is to play Super Bowl bingo! Check it out here.

There you go! These are just a few ways to enjoy your Austin weekend. Here’s hoping y’all have a fun, safe, and weird time!
