Cinelasamericas International Film Festival
While technically the Festival opens on May 3, there’s still plenty of film fun to enjoy from Thursday on. Cine Las Americas is an Austin based organization that offers films made by and/or about Latinos. One-third of the festival’s screenings are free and you can purchase individual tickets on the day of screenings that aren’t. Get more info here.

Tasting & Terrarium Making at Blue Owl Brewing
Who doesn’t love a tiny terrarium? Here’s your chance to make your very own. Austin Girls Pint Out will host a ladies only tasting and terrarium making class that includes a sensory beer tasting and all materials/instruction necessary for everyone to make and take home their own live terrarium. Participants also receive a Blue Owl glass to keep and four 12-ounce pours of their beers.

Saturday, May 6
For the fourth straight year, the iHeart Country Festival comes to the Frank Erwin Center. Country superstars like Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, and Darius Rucker headline. However, if you don’t want to shell out the big bucks for the fest, check out The Daytime Village. It’s free and features performances from Lindsay Ell, Kane Brown, Tucker Beathard, Chris Janson, Jon Pardi, and Kip Moore.

2017 Derby in the City Music Festival
This all day and night celebration is the biggest Kentucky Derby party in the city. Bands like Citizen Cope and Black Pistol Fire will provide the tunes as you sip on Makers Mark mint juleps and large variety of cocktails and beer. Of course, a jumbotron will be on hand so you don’t miss the fastest two minutes in sports.

The Pecan Street Festival
There’s something for everyone at The Pecan Street Festival, which donates proceeds to various projects which help preserve Sixth Street as a landmark. Enjoy a classic carnival, street magicians, petting zoo, and lots and lots of food and live music.

Austin Beerworks’ 6-Pack Anniversary
Austin Beerworks will celebrate their sixth anniversary with live music and an extensive list of beer offerings. And don’t fret about long lines. YPE Austin – 5th Annual Charity Crawfish Boil

SoulCycle Ride for the Texas Book Festival
