All aboard for a weekend of fun in the ATX. With summer right around the corner, the weekend events schedule just keeps heating up. Here are 10 of our favorite happenings leading up to Memorial Day Monday.
Thursday, May 25
Casablanca 75th Anniversary Screening
75 years after Casablanca debuted in movie theaters around the world, the Paramount is set to play it again, Sam. With photo opportunities and special surprises galore, you are invited to pay tribute to a film that only gets better as time goes by. Film Fan Members can attend the Opening Night Party at 6 p.m. before the screening with free beer/wine/popcorn and free admission. Otherwise, doors open at 6:30 p.m. and film screens at 7 p.m.

Mt. Playmore Adult Night
Bust out your best rebel gear for a Star Wars themed adult night at Mt Playmore. Starting at 9 p.m. DJ Chris Burns will be rocking the house for those 21 and up only. All adults receive an unlimited arcade game card, and you can practice your Jedi moves as much as you wish on their giant Texas sized playscape. Members of the dark side will also be admitted.

Man Down Screening
Shia LeBouf stars as a Marine returning home from Afghanistan to find the world he once called home is no better than the battlefields he fought on overseas. The Man Down screening will be followed by a mental wellness Q&A with CSM Christopher Greca and director Dito Montiel as well as other mental health experts. While attendance is free, you must reserve tickets here.

Saturday, May 27
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Boat Party Adventure
In honor of the latest installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, the Alamo Drafthouse hosts a day of pirate pandemonium. It starts on dry land with a screening of the newest film at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, then shoves off onto the sea (of Lady Bird Lake). All attendees must be dressed as a pirate in order to attend, and, according to the organizers, anyone who buys a ticket and shows up dressed as a landlubber will not be granted access to the ship. Ruff Adventures #FurBallATX
#FurBallATX is a red carpet celebration of all the things that make Austin the Animal Rescue Capital of the World. This mid-afternoon cocktail reception and awards ceremony is hosted by Ruff Adventures and 1 Dog 1 Hour and benefits Emancipet. Tickets include admission for one human and one dog (which you are encouraged to dress up in formal wear). Bringing a foster dog? Good on you. You get in for half price.

Fado 20th Anniversary
Get ready to raise a glass of Guinness because Fado Irish Pub is turning 20! The Blaggards will bring the beats at 9:30 p.m., but the Irish brew and Tullamore Dew will be flowing all night long. Sláinte!

Hill Country Flyer
Climb on board for a 66-mile round trip excursion through the Texas Hill Country in a car pulled by a diesel locomotive. The six-hour trip includes a two-hour layover in Burnet where you can stroll around the historic town square. Tickets start at $28 and can be purchased here.

Woodland Faerie Trail opens
Through July 30, Zilker Botanical Garden guests can explore the abodes of the faeries and gnomes along the Woodland Faerie Trail. Experience the magic for free with garden admission during regular hours. For more info and other faerie related events click here.

Sunday, May 28
Round Rock Pub Crawl
Head on over to Round Rock and check out the social scene on Main Street. This Sunday funday pub crawl starts and ends at Quinn’s Round Rock with stops for drinks and games at The Tavern, Round Rock, The Rock Sports Bar, The Long Branch Saloon, The Brass Tap – Round Rock, and Rockey’s Piano Bar. Prizes will be given out for Most Patriotic Outfit, Best Tat, Best Beard and more. Scottish Thunder closes down the night at Quinn’s, who will be offering 20% off for active duty and veterans as well as donating 20% of sales for the entire day to ReGroup Foundation.

The BIZarre bazAAR is a feast, flea market, and ultimately, an opportunity to unwind and relax all day at Empire Control Room. There will be specialty drinks, food options, copious lounging opportunities, and all sorts of local businesses, vendors, and booths.

Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party
Maudie’s Tex Mex at Seaholm will host a 5K race followed by a party with margaritas and dinner on Thursday, June 8. All proceeds benefit The Trail Foundation (TTF), a nonprofit organization that protects and enhances the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake. The Run and the Party are separate ticketed events; both beginning at 8 p.m.
