Teisco Del Rey is best known as the musician who brought surf music to the Lone Star State. After moving from the Bay Area to Austin in the 80’s, he began playing with such musicians as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Douglas, and many more. If you are looking for a great musician to see this weekend, Teisco Del Rey is an excellent choice for his jazz and blues style music.

If you are looking for a great rock band to watch this Friday, you can include local rock at The Bravo in your weekend plans. Local musician and Austin native Jane Ellen Bryant will be performing songs from her new EP Twenties this weekend at Lamberts. With a beautiful voice and solid guitar skills, for the music fans that are looking for something more mellow, you can’t get much better than Jane. So come on down and check her out.
With songs such as “Midwest Dirt” off of their latest release Of The Mountain Plains, Austin based trio Mountain Rag has something to offer both casual and hardcore blues fans, as their rough and sharp sound will bring up reminders of bands such as The Black Keys, as they write songs we can’t stop singing. New Zealand musical comedy act Flight of the Conchords will be making an appearance this weekend at Bass Concert Hall, performing their entertaining songs for fans which will have you laughing all night long. If you are looking to add some humor to your weekend, Flight of the Conchords are the right way to go.
Local rock band Marriage will be performing at Hotel Vegas this weekend, introducing fans to their loud live show that will get your weekend kicked off right. Check out one of their performances below to see why they are so good.

With original country music being a niche genre here in Austin, Bo Porter will be performing at Austin Beer Garden and Brewery this weekend. With a soulful voice and a talent for telling great stories through song, local country music is great due to artists such as Bo Porter, so we suggest you come out to see him perform this weekend.
Known as the former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Zakk Wylde will be rolling through Austin this weekend to perform his intricate and classic version of heavy metal which will blow the doors off of your weekend. Check out the video below to get a taste for Wylde’s incredible guitar skills.
