Ballet Under The Stars

This Austin Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble season will close on June 2-3 (Rain Date June 4) with the annual event Ballet Under the Stars at the Zilker Hillside Theater. The audience will enjoy original works created by the resident artists that span a variety of dance styles. Bubblepalooza!

Bubblepalooza!, the FREE annual celebration of open play, returns for its sixth year! Everyone is invited to spend time on the Long Center’s City Terrace and expansive lawns enjoying live music, chalk art, trailer food—and of course, tons of bubbles! Food and beverages are available for purchase on-site. Parking will be available for $8 per car at the Palmer Events Center Garage.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

You and your child can build a wooden tic-tac-toe game to play with family or friends almost anywhere. Once the project is complete, your child can paint their project to personalize it. All kids get to keep their project, receive a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Celebrate the end of a successful school year with FREE admission to the museum for everyone. This will be your last opportunity to view the Explore Evolution exhibit before it is retired. All summer long, the Bullock Museum is presenting a Summer Free Family Film Series with the theme, A Magical Fantastical Adventure. June 10: Alice in Wonderland. All seats are available on a first come first served basis, with priority seating for members beginning at 1:30 p.m. All other guests will begin seating at 1:40 p.m. Concessions from the IMAX lobby will be allowed in the theater.

Troilus and Cressida presented by Something for Nothing Theater Company

The tradition of Shakespeare in Ramsey Park continues with Troilus and Cressida produced with minimal props, costumes, and lighting, focusing on storytelling and the wonderful language of Shakespeare. For this production, the script has been cut down to less than two hours, so it will be a snappy experience, unlike the epic you may have read in school. Two armies, two lovers, two hours! Find out what William Shakespeare can do with the story of ancient Troy. Bring a blanket or chair and pack some snacks for this FREE Trojan journey!

ATX Television Festival’s Parks & Recreation Outdoor Screening

ROT Rally Parade & Free Concert

The ROT Biker Rally is the largest “turnstile” motorcycle rally in the country. Although the Travis County Expo Center is the main location for the Rally, the Friday of Rally weekend, there is a parade and concert downtown. The parade will run from about 7:45 – 8:30 p.m. Bring ear protection for the littles, as the event can get loud. Motorcycles wanting to participate should gather at the Travis County Expo Center at 7:00 p.m. at gate 3 (only participants with official ROT wristband can be in the parade). Bikes will leave the expo at 7:45 p.m. Music starts right after the bikes finish parking. FREE!

Yoga on the Plaza (Round Rock)

In partnership with the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department, Keep Austin Beautiful organizes large-scale cleanups every other month from 25 locations along the shoreline and from watercrafts on and along Lady Bird Lake. Help out on June 10 and work towards the goal of creating a pristine lake for nature lovers, exercise enthusiasts, and visitors alike! Afterwards, cool down at the Expedition School (34 Robert Martinez Jr St) from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for a social with treats from Goodpop and Hubert’s Lemonade to thank everyone for helping Keep Austin beautiful.

Make plans to attend Children’s Day Art Park on Wednesday mornings from June 7 – July 26, 2017 (excluding July 5). After the headlining performance, which usually starts around 10:00 a.m., follow the Pied Piper across the street to the Art Tent for crafts, stories, and more.
