This fall, several Texas attractions will offer special discounts and/or educational activities tailored for home school groups. We’ve rounded up a few, but invite you to share in the comments if you know of more!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center (Grapevine) – September 8 – 12

Home school students and parents receive $10 tickets during Home School Week! Just mention to the admissions staff that you are a home school group to receive this special price. If you have a group of 10 or more please email [email protected] or call 469.444.3004 to pre-book your visit.

Homeschool Day at Pioneer Farms – Friday, September 12

Travel back in time and explore Texas history at Pioneer Farms, with historical demonstrations, reenactments, and fun and games for kids of all ages. Admission will be a one-day discounted price of $3 per person. This event is open to all families, homeschool or not.
Bullock Texas State History Museum – Wednesday, September 17

Just for homeschool educators and their students – come explore the Museum and receive the discounted school group rates for Exhibit, IMAX® Theatre, and Texas Spirit Theater admissions. Homeschool educators, make sure to stop by the Resource Table for new activities and lesson plans created just for this event. No reservations required — drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Admission to the Museum exhibits is FREE to all Homeschoolers, Chaperones, and Teachers, but you still need to get an exhibit admission sticker at the ticketing counter. For more information, please call 512-936-4682.

San Antonio Zoo Homeschool Programs (San Antonio) – Starting September 17

Choose from eight special home school programs, held from 9:30 – 11 a.m. For ages 6-11. The cost is $25/non-member adult and child; $10/extra participant (adult or child). See the 2014-15 schedule.

Schlitterbahn Home School Family Days (New Braunfels) – Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21

For Home School Days, the admission is discounted to $39.80 for adults and $32.15 for child/senior. To view the park-specific offers, click here. For ticket and season pass discounts, follow the steps below.

Thinkery – Monday, September 29

The Thinkery will be open Monday, September 29, from 1-5 p.m. exclusively for Homeschool families to explore and take part in special Thinkery experiences throughout the day. Order your tickets now ($0-$8).
Homeschool Day at Space Center Houston (Houston) – Thursday, October 16From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., students of all ages will enjoy Mad Science experiments, robotics workshops, and fun and informative speakers. Purchase tickets online for $10.95 (if purchased before October 3).

Barton Hill Farms (Bastrop) – Friday, October 17

Barton Hill Farms welcomes homeschool families for field trips on Friday, October 17, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. $7 per student, teacher and/or chaperone. One chaperone for every 3-5 students is required. Price valid on field trip days only, no discounts allowed. Note: Reservations are required for all field trips. Please have one person pay for the field trip. Checks should be made out to Barton Hill Farms.

School Days at the Texas Renaissance Festival (Todd Mission) – Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 5Open to all public, private, and homeschool educators and students, School Days is offered exclusively as an educational opportunity. Students will experience a 16th century English village, interact with King Henry VIII and his queen, and many other costumed characters. Students will have the opportunity to learn courtly dances, the ancient art of falconry, the history of arms and armor, and more. Admission is $8 per person. Children 4 and under are admitted free. There is no charge for parking. Lunch tickets can be purchased for $9 per person, or you may bring a packed lunch or purchase other food and drink at vendors throughout the park.
