Getting drunk for a good cause is always our favorite reason to get drunk, and next week the annual Negroni Week let’s you do just that. From June 6-12 more than 50 Austin area bars and restaurants will participate in Negroni Week to celebrate Campari, Gin, and Vermouth, all while benefiting local and national charities.
The annual event sponsored by Campari and Imbibe Magazine started in 2013 and has grown greatly ever since then. In Austin, bartenders are putting together special menus for the week.
Many keep it timeless by serving the Classic Negroni, while other keep it local, creating cocktails made with Tito’s vodka and Lone Star beer. Some get extra creative with the classic ingredients, introducing everything from whiskey to mezcal to the classic combination. One local restaurant went so far as to create a Monty Python themed menu, you can sate your sweet tooth with Negroni gelato or a strawberry campari tart, and even try your own bartending skills out with a Negroni take home kit.
