Kick off the weekend with ciders and sliders and end it with a celebration of National Ice Cream Day. Sounds like another sweet weekend in Austin! Here are 10 of the best events that will leave you screaming for more.

Ciders and Sliders

Enjoy a full Austin Eastciders paired with sliders and various bites from the Native chef at just $7.00 for each pairing (while the tasting items last). All Austin Eastciders products will be discounted throughout the night with live music by Kid Slyce and JD Clark.

Texas Focus: The Secret Life Of Lance Letscher

Join the Bullock Museum for a screening and conversation about The Secret Life of Lance Letscher. The film follows internationally known collage artist Lance Letscher as he prepares for his departure from intricately designed paper collage to metal, creating a large outdoor mural on the iconic stretch of South Congress Avenue in his hometown of Austin. A Q&A follows the screening of the film which first premiered at SXSW.

Friday, July 14

Duchman Family Winery Throw Back Tasting Event

Duchman Family Winery is dusting off bottles from their selection of 2011 award-winning vintages and offering guests the rare opportunity to taste a variety of their most notable wines. Duchman expert and General Manager Jeff Ogle will guide the tasting which includes bites by Chef Joseph Bannister to pair with the selection of red and white varietals.

Saturday, July 15

Romeo & Juliet

Meet the star-crossed lovers in a costumed reading of scenes from Shakespeare’s tragedy. The moving performance features members of Austin Shakespeare, with live chamber music accompaniment by festival artists that includes works by Fauré, Prokofiev, and Beethoven.

Grand Opening – The Halal Guys Austin

The Halal Guys gang invites you to their grand opening with exclusive swag and a free platter during your next visit for the first 100 people in line. They will also be open until 11 p.m. so if you’re looking for a late night fix of their limited edition spicy hummus, The Halal Guys have got you covered!

Rosen’s Bagel Co. Pop-Up

East side bar Kitty Cohen hosts a pop-up with Rosen’s Bagel Company this weekend. Guests are invited to rethink what they know ‘bout bagels while dipping their toes in the pool. Stick around for some late-night treats like adult pizza bagels. Yum!

“Game of Thrones” Premiere at The North Door

Winter is finally here, and you don’t need an HBO subscription to watch! Each week throughout season 7, the North Door hosts a GOT viewing party for diehard fans as well as those who know nothing (like Jon Snow). It all starts with the previous episode airing at 7 p.m. followed by that week’s episode live at 8 p.m. If you really want to kick the party up a notch, dress as Daenerys or one of your other favorite characters. Go ahead and leave the dragons at home, though.

Feeding the Soul with GITAN

The Feeding the Soul series at St. Elmo Brewing features gypsy jazz duo GITAN with brunch from Soursop and beer specials all day. There will be food collection boxes on site all day so please bring along non-persishable food items to donate to the Central Texas Food Bank.

National Ice Cream Day at HOPE Gallery

Close out the weekend at the HOPE Outdoor Gallery celebrating National Ice Cream Day. Sweet Ritual is sponsoring several street artists who will paint ice cream themed murals and will be on site offering free ice cream cones from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., or until supplies are gone. Ice cream selfies in front of the fabulous Hope Gallery murals? Sounds like a sweet deal to us.

2nd Annual National Ice Cream Day Extravaganza

What sounds even better than free ice cream? Two servings of free ice cream! NadaMoo! Ice Cream will be sampling all their delicious flavors of dairy free coconut milk ice cream at  Craftsman throughout the day. Plus, MOOJO will be selling their scrumptious ice cream sandwiches made with homemade, fresh, warm cookies and Nada Moo ice cream for $5. And that’s not all. The Craftsman will be serving two ice cream themed adult beverages. And speaking of adults, this event is 21+ only.

The Brewer’s Table

On Monday, July 24, The Brewer’s Table is popping up at Lazarus Brewing for a special collaboration event benefitting Urban Roots. With a $10 donation, guests can try complimentary pours of a special Gose and bites from The Brewer’s Table.
