Operation Taco Drop May be the Best Thing to Happen at SXSW Yet

Who needs Favor when you’ve got friends?

Sometimes you’ve just got to have tacos. And when you’re an official SXSW artist playing multiple shows, sometimes those tacos have to come to you. Especially if one of those shows is on a boat. Austin DJs Sharkweek and BoomBaptist couldn’t quite make it to their favorite taco stand before hopping on a boat for the annual SureFire Agency party that they’re helping to throw. Just getting to the boat in the middle of the SX melee is challenge enough, adding gear load-in and set up, sound check, and other things on top of that rarely leaves time for tacos. But hey, that’s what friends are for.

After putting out a Facebook request for a taco delivery, Sharkweek’s call was answered by two different friends, Jeremy Baker and Keegan Godsey, resulting in some hilarious video from Daniel Timmins and Erin Jantzen. The best part about Timmins’ video may be the ending where one of the delivery guys laughs “that is the most rad thing I’ve ever done.” Indeed, we must agree, noble sir.

And for those of you who are curious-and if you live in a town where taco wars are fought, we know you are-the tacos came from Papalote and Pueblo Viejo. They were of the breakfast variety.

Keep smiling, keep shining. Tacos will be on your side forever more. Happy SXSW, y’all.
